Per IRS guidelines, for property donations valued over $5,000, the donor must secure an independent, qualified appraisal completed by a licensed appraiser. This appraisal establishes the Fair Market Value used on IRS Form 8283, which our authorized representatives sign upon closing. The appraisal must be conducted no earlier than 60 days before the donation date.
